CESERE SelgeSiht is a research-oriented SME with social objectives that carries out projects, studies and practical activities related to sustainability and environmental awareness. In our activities, we follow and contribute to the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
Our mission is to promote environmental awareness and support the sustainability, safety and well-being of communities and the environment through research and environmental education activities.
Focus on Sustainability
Our main activities are to carry out projects and research related to sustainability and environmental awareness. We also develop and conduct active learning environmental education programs and provide environmental interest/hobby education. In addition, we conduct seminars, forest hikes and other practical activities in the nature to support environmental awareness.
In our education programs we focus on neighbourhood-based natural education and green technologies. We have opinion that neighbourhood-based natural education creates meaningful basis for future environmental attitudes. Green technologies bring global/international view to understanding of environmental problems and potential solutions.
History of CESERE | SelgeSiht
SelgeSiht OÜ was founded in 2018. Our activity began with research and development projects in the field of community and society security, as well as the development and implementation of environmental education programs for schools. Soon, other nature activities were added to it in the form of seminars and forest hikes.
In 2022, the Ministry of Education and Research approved the Interest School SelgeSiht curriculum “Nature and Green Technologies”. Based on that, we started to provide interest education in the field of environmental awareness, nature and green technologies.
Internationally, we use the EU-wide registered brand name CESERE ®, which is an abbreviation of Centre for Community and Environmental Sustainability and Security Research and Education.
The core statutory activities of CESERE SelgeSiht to promote sustainability are:
- research and development activities in the field of natural and technical sciences;
- promoting community safety and environmental awareness;
- youth work, including interest education in the field of natural and technical sciences.
Professional cooperation and networking
We have a good international, European and intra-Estonian cooperation network. This allows us to provide high results both in the field of research and development projects related to the sustainability and safety of the environment and communities. It also supports to conduct environmental educational study programs, seminars and other nature activities using best international and domestic practices.
Environmental and social sustainability is important to us. We have the candidate mark of the Responsible Business Index since 2021. Member of the Responsible Business Forum since January 2024. CESERE SelgeSiht is a member of Network of Social Enterprises since January 2024 and participates in Baltic Sea Impact Network also since January 2024. Member of Estonian Association for Environmental Management since February 2024.
Our Hobby School SelgeSiht is a member of the Estonian Science Interest Education Association since 2023. Member of the Association of Estonian Interest Schools
since January 2024 Member of the Association of Estonian Private Vocational Schools since January 2024.
